our show is shaping up!

We, Los Tenedores, do more than pose for stunning photos (more of those coming soon! Reed Sayre rocked out with the camera at our last rehearsal)... yes, we rehearse! As magical and natural as performance is for us, much preparation is needed. We want to bring the most wonderful show to you, and that is how we spend most of our time... practicing.

More photos from rehearsal to come soon, and also expect soon our personal artist bios... until then, please accept my interim description of my wonderful peers!

Expect to be intrigued by interpretative dance and smart acting by Andy Hershberger; his performances are hard to not react to - please forgive us if we break out of character to join in your laughter.

Elisa Urtiaga is a sensual performer here to remind us that the body and how it interacts with the world is art; art is participatory, and she blurs the lines of perception making everyone a willing spectacle.

Freda Mohr is a language artist, wont to explore humanity via the sounds it makes; a verbal exhibitionist, she hopes to encourage vulnerability by being an open book herself.

Hi, Theresa Columbus here with my bio: She imagined that their discussion happened in a cracked open globe that was solid, not hollow, and the inside of the globe was just as colorful as the outside. She thinks it was because of all the graffiti, the largeness of the sky, and other factors. She longs for specific feelings, one of which includes the backyard of her first Baltimore home, in addition to many others.

oh, we clean up nice

photographic skill by Reed Sayre.

Useful Utensils

Here we are, in our one-off production, Hamming For the Camera, given to a private feline audience at the Whole Gallery.

self-description

Perform some, tour some, foursome! Los Tenedores are troubadours of the modern age, present to commit individual and collaborative acts of passion. A pronged quartet, these escape-from-Baltimore artists alternate reality by being fully participatory... they seek truth, joy and reflection with each other, and you! All this born from the urgent nature of life and art -- language, performance and social. A conscious action decision, they create an abstractly tangible experience, designed to bring water forth from stone, transform overgrown souls into manicured infants, break down misery into revelry, and turn aurora borealis into crystal heaven; anything can happen and the senses are hyper-real. Through divergent paths, Theresa Columbus, Andy Herschberger, Freda Mohr and Elisa Urtiaga converge to comprise Los Tenedores. Los agarradores, Los Tenedores, agarran de la presente. The graspers, The Forks (The Possessors), take hold of (grasp) the present. "It was a passionate moment we were groping for..."

Another one of our performers in one of her plays

One of the artists

This is one of our Tenedores performing solo on the streets in Bilbao, here she represents her tragic blues and jazz singing character and will personally serenade you for a couple euros. Aren't those songs with phrases like "I'm so lonesome I could die" so divine you could just fall in love.....
